Trust and probate litigation
Trust law applies when one person places trust and confidence in another to manage his or her affairs or hold property for them, and trusts are the mechanism that supports a wide variety of such situations. Trustee powers cover family relationships, wealth management and inheritance, charities, pension funds, probate and many others.
The law covering trustee powers is technical and particularly complex and the relationships can be problematic. Sometimes, resort to the courts is necessary. When these situation arise, whether you are the person establishing a trust, acting as a trustee are a beneficiary, or are professional in one of the wealth management services, you will need experienced lawyers who understand the intricacies of the law and the factors affecting these relationships, and who can deploy all the procedures that the court and law offer for resolving the problems that arise with trusts.
Working closely with our private client, charities and pensions teams, our disputes and litigation lawyers include specialists who guide clients through the legal maze that surrounds areas such as probate, trusts and trustee powers, and find and pursue solutions. Picking up the pieces arising from the loss of a loved one can also be particularly troubled by the breakdown of relationships. At such times, having a lawyer alongside you who knows their field can be an enormous comfort.
