Overview:

Clare is a trainee solicitor based at our Cambridge office.

Experience:

Clare commenced her training contract with Hewitsons in September 2010, and expects to qualify as a solicitor in September 2012. Clare is currently working in our Employment Team, where she assists with a range of contentious and non-contentious work. Clare assists with bringing and defending tribunal claims, drafting and advising on compromise agreements, advising on disciplinary and grievance procedures, advising on redundancies, and drafting and advising on employment contracts and policies for employers.

Clare has previously undertaken a seat in Commercial Property, where she assisted with a range of non-contentious commercial property work, including negotiating commercial leases and lease renewals, preparation of title reports, and title registration and related Land Registry issues.  This was followed by a seat in Intellectual Property, where Clare gained experience in intellectual property disputes, brand protection work and the registration and transfer of intellectual property rights.

Education:

Clare read Law at the University of Nottingham, graduating in 2008.  She went on to complete the Legal Practice Course at Nottingham Law School in 2010.
