Trusts
Trusts can provide flexible solutions to tax and family issues. Whether it’s protection for vulnerable individuals or tax planning measures, we’ll work alongside you to find answers that meet your needs, and those of your family, in the long term.
We have a practical approach to trusts and trustee powers that draws on our considerable experience and expertise in drafting new trusts – and revising existing ones – from both the trust law and tax perspective.
The trustee role carries a host of legal and financial obligations. We ease that burden by dealing with the necessary administration and providing valuable guidance and assistance on matters relating to trustee powers.
Our large, dedicated team administers several hundred trusts. We work with investment managers and other professionals to manage trust assets, we arrange trustees’ meetings, and we deal with changes of trustees and distributions to beneficiaries.
Many of the trusts we administer have partners within the firm acting as trustees. With our experience of trusts of all types and sizes, as well as trustee powers, we’re able to offer clients a comprehensive yet efficient service, delivered in the way that suits them best.
Charitable trusts
We also advise extensively on charitable trusts, whether set up by individuals and families or otherwise. We provide a full service for these charities, from trust deed preparation to trustee issues and administration. Our Charities section tells you more.
Contentious trusts / probates
In this increasingly litigious world, those responsible for trusts can find themselves subject to financial claims. We can advise on such disputes, with our specialist litigators working closely with our trust / probate lawyers. The team includes a member of the Association of Contentious Trust and Probate Specialists.
