Overview:
It is with deep regret that we report the death of Niel Ackermann on 2nd January 2012. Niel was diagnosed with cancer in 2010 and fought a cheerful and valiant battle against the disease to the end. He will be sadly missed by family, friends and colleagues.
Niel joined Hewitsons in 1995 and was a key player in establishing and developing our contentious intellectual property practice. He was absolutely dedicated to providing the best for his clients, no matter who they were, and for this he was held in the highest regard by clients, colleagues in the firm and the profession, and others in his chosen field.
