Overview:
Robert is a partner in the Disputes Resolution Group. He acts for commercial and private clients in property related disputes.
Experience:
Robert advises in relation to all types of disputes relating to land; including property developments where there are issues concerning restrictive covenants or overage provisions. He also deals with arrange of landlord and tenant disputes, including dilapidations claims, service charges, private nuisance claims, forfeiture and possession proceedings for commercial properties, right of way claims and boundary disputes.
Robert also deals with product liability issues on behalf of a major motorcycle manufacturer. This covers defending personal injury claims and advising on product recalls.
Background:
Robert read law at Manchester University. He trained as a solicitor at Manches, qualifying in 1991 and becoming a partner and head of the property litigation team in 2001. He joined Hewitsons in November 2004. He is a member of the Property Litigation Association and on the Committee of the Cambridgeshire District Law Society.

Broadland District Council v Peter Trott [2011] EWCA Civ 301; Court of Appeal decision in favour of developer client who successfully appealed against an injunction granted at first instance in the High Court for breach of a requirement in a planning enforcement notice.
Acting for a private landowner in a claim for damages for breach of covenant and for nuisance against an operator of a waste management site on adjoining land.
Legal 500 described Robert as “knowledgeable and efficient”. Chambers recommended him as “a well respected local player.”
Robert is a member of the Property Litigation Association and was a member of the Cambridgeshire District Law Society Committee for two years.
