Top IP lawyer delighted to speak at European bioprocessing conference
19 November 2008
IP Lawyer Simon Portman was delighted to be invited to speak at Europe's leading bioprocessing conference - Bioproduction 2008.
Simon, who heads-up our Life Science team, took delegates through the complex legal process involved in negotiating a biomanufacturing agreement during the four-day conference in Dusseldorf, Germany.
He explained: "During the one-day workshop I explored the key legal and commercial issues to look out for when negotiating a biomanufacturing agreement. These included allocation of responsibilities, risk management, intellectual property ownership and dispute resolution. The delegates were then split into teams to review and negotiate an imaginary biomanufacturing agreement, bearing in mind the issues I had raised."
Simon advises clients on a full range of commercial and intellectual property matters including licensing, research and development, manufacturing and distribution agreements. He also advises life science companies on clinical trials and other regulatory issues.
Other speakers at Bioproduction 2008 included representatives from companies such as Amgen, Genentech and Pfizer.
