Overview:

John is Hewitsons Managing Partner and chairs the Management Board. He is based in Cambridge and his practice area is company law, dealing with M&A, funding and corporate governance matters.

Experience:

John's experience encompasses advising companies at board level on corporate transactions and issues, his legal expertise being enhanced by skills honed in managing the Hewitsons business. His practice developed around technology companies raising finance, and making acquisitions and disposals, and he has advised investors and funds, as well as founders and investee companies. His work on financing, structuring and governance has extended his client base to banks, public sector bodies, educational institutions, and charities.

Background:

John has degrees in law and history from the University of Sydney. He qualified in New South Wales in 1986, and in England and Wales in 1991. He joined Hewitsons in 1988 and became a partner in 1996.
