Overview:

Richard is a partner in the firm's corporate team in Northampton and advises in particular on both the legal and commercial aspects of company sales and acquisitions. He also has many years' experience of acting as a non-executive director of private companies.

Experience:

Richard's practice has a particular emphasis on mergers and acquisitions, company sales and advising clients on corporate finance matters. He is also a non-executive director of a number of well known local private companies.

In addition, he is a director of and the founder of Spencer Partners Corporate Finance Limited, in which Hewitsons LLP is a joint venture partner. This company specialises in providing corporate finance advice to owner-managed companies and their shareholders on the sale and purchase of companies and business assets. Background:

Richard has a law degree from Downing College, Cambridge University and trained as a lawyer in the City of London at Allen & Overy. He joined Hewitsons in 1988, becoming a partner the following year. He is also a member of the American Bar Association and maintains close links with the various US law firms in LawExchange, Hewitsons' international law group.
