Overview:

Giles is a Partner in the Cambridge employment team. He advises businesses and senior executives on the full spectrum of employment law issues.

Experience:

Giles provides day-to-day advice to clients on all employment law issues such as carrying-out redundancy and restructuring exercises, conducting capability and disciplinary procedures and issues to consider when dealing with disabled employees or managing long term sickness absence.

Giles has extensive experience of advising on Tribunal claims involving issues such as unfair dismissal, disability discrimination, sex and race discrimination, unlawful deductions from wages and breach of contract claims. In addition Giles drafts contracts of employments, director's service agreements, company policies and procedures and compromise agreements. Giles also has experience in drafting and advising on post termination restrictions and protecting confidential information.

Background:

Giles read Law at the University of Southampton before completing his Legal Practice Course at the College of Law in Guildford. He trained and worked as a solicitor at Mills & Reeve in Cambridge from 1997 until 2007. Giles joined Hewitsons in April 2007 and was appointed to the Partnership in November 2007.
