Overview:

Katie is an assistant solicitor in the Northampton Commercial Property Team.

Experience:

Katie has experience of leasehold transactions, including negotiating commercial leases and lease renewals, along with preparing and negotiating ancillary lease documents and deeds such as deeds of variation, licences to occupy, tenancies at will, licences to alter, licences to underlet, licences to assign, deeds of assignment and deeds of surrender, acting for both Landlords and Tenants.

Katie also has experience in both freehold and leasehold sales and purchases. She assists in managing the legal aspects of substantial property portfolios for, amongst others, Travis Perkins Plc.

Furthermore, Katie advises clients on various Land Registry issues, including first registrations, upgrading the class of title to land and resolving boundary disputes.

Education:

Katie read law at Lancaster University and obtained a 2:1 degree before completing her legal practice course at the College of Law in Birmingham. She commenced her training contract with Hewitsons in 2006 and qualified into our commercial property team in September 2008 as an assistant solicitor.
