Overview:
Liz is a Partner in the Cambridge employment team. She advises businesses, senior executives and other individuals on the full spectrum of contentious and non-contentious employment law.
Experience:
Liz advises on day-to-day employment issues, such as varying terms and conditions of employment, the conduct of capability, disciplinary and grievance procedures and she also advises on managing long-term sickness absence.
Liz's particular experience lies in business restructures and individual and collective redundancies. She also assists with business transfers and related issues.
Liz has significant contentious experience of matters such as unfair dismissal, discrimination (including sex, race and disability discrimination), breach of contract and unlawful deduction from wages. Liz also drafts and advises on contracts of employment, service agreements, consultancy agreements, company policies, workforce agreements and compromise agreements. In addition, Liz advises on post-termination restrictive covenants and the protection of business interests and confidential information.
Background:
Liz read Philosophy, Politics and Economics at New College, Oxford, before achieving distinctions in both her Diploma in Advanced Study from Oxford Brookes University and her Legal Practice Course at the Oxford Institute of Legal Practice. She worked as a trainee solicitor in the Cambridge office and qualified into its employment team in September 2000. Liz was appointed to the Partnership in January 2007.
