Overview:

Amy is a solicitor in the Private Client team. She advises on Powers of Attorney, Heritage Property, Tax Compliance, Estate Administration, Trusts & Trustee Powers, Wills and Estate Planning.

Experience:

Since joining the Private Client team in March 2010, Amy has drafted wills and associated documents and assisted in the administration of estates including drafting Probate documents and IHT returns.  She has also been involved with the drafting and registration of Lasting Powers of Attorney and the registration of Enduring Powers of Attorney.   

Amy trained as a solicitor at Hewitsons undertaking work in the Private Client, Intellectual Property and Agriculture Teams.  Prior to this, Amy worked for four years as a Construction Law paralegal advising clients on a full range of contentious and non-contentious construction issues. 

Background:

Amy graduated with a first class degree in Performance Studies before changing career to law.  Whilst working as a paralegal Amy undertook the Graduate Diploma in Law and Legal Practice Course, which she passed with Distinction, and has recently completed the LLM in Professional Legal Practice.  Amy joined Hewitsons in July 2007 and is a student member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP).
