Partner raises over £500 for CLIC Sargent after running Reading Half Marathon
Employment Partner Giles Betts raised over £500 for the UK’s leading cancer charity CLIC Sargent after successfully completing the Reading Half Marathon in 2009.
Giles has a personal interest in the charity as his wife Jodi helps care for young cancer sufferers every day in her role as a childrens nurse at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge.
Giles said: “Jodi has worked as a paediatric nurse at Addenbrooke’s Hospital for more than twelve years and I am therefore aware of the hard work involved in supporting youngsters through the trauma of cancer. I chose this charity as Jodi’s role at Addenbrooke’s is partially sponsored by CLIC Sargent.
“I am extremely keen to raise awareness of this great charity as it relies entirely on public donations to fund the invaluable work it carries out. It is one of the few charities that directly supports the families of young cancer sufferers, providing clinical, practical and emotional support.”
Giles is an enthusiastic runner and in the past has successfully competed in the London Marathon, the New York Marathon and the Great North Run.
