Hewitsons sponsors 2009 Fitzwilliam Chamber Series

Hewitsons are once again proud to be supporting the 2009 Cambridge Fitzwilliam Chamber Series which will showcase some of the country’s brightest talents. The series consists of a season of professional concerts in the auditorium at Fitzwilliam College which is rapidly becoming recognised as one of the best venues for chamber music in Cambridge.

Having sponsored the successful inaugural 2007 series and 2008 series we are delighted to have the opportunity to be associated with the event once again. We have long supported the ensemble in residence at the College, the Fitzwilliam String Quartet, and the 2009 Chamber Series will combine familiar pieces with a chance to discover music much more rarely performed.

There will be six concerts taking place:

January 23rd 2010    David Irving (violin), Baroque violin music from across Europe

February 6th 2010    Rupert Luck (violin), British violin sonatas from the 19^th and 20^th centuries

February 20th 2010   Tom Wakefield (piano), The Romantic Virtuoso - Liszt, Chopin and Alkan

March 6th 2010        Marylebone Trio, Three centuries of chamber music
