1Spatial Group - A Cambridge success story
1Spatial Group (formerly Laser-Scan) was purchased out of the administration of the Yeoman group in 2003. Cambridge based, 1Spatial has grown to become one of the world's leading providers of geospatial data engineering solutions and has long term contracts with Ordnance Survey and various governments and defence departments around the world.
Having acted for the management (who still remain in place to this day) in the buy-out from the Administrators, Hewitsons continues to be involved in various 1Spatial projects.
Acquisitions in Norway, England, Ireland, Scotland and Australia have all had input from Hewitsons, as have other projects such as a proposed listing on AIM and the listing of the business in Malaysia - both of which, having been investigated - were put aside.
Recently, Hewitsons have been involved with advising on the commercial strategy of the business and have been working with the Board to implement a system to facilitate the appointment of a main board director nominated by the employee shareholders as a body.
Hewitsons also assisted 1Spatial on its recent move to prestigious new premises on the Cambridge Business Park.
