Hewitsons advises on significant cross border corporate transaction

Hewitsons has advised on the sale of one of the world's leading suppliers of computer systems to the taxi and private hire industry.

The sale of Harpenden-based Auriga Communications Limited had a truly international flavour with the owner Tait Electronics based in Christchurch, New Zealand, and the purchaser, Trapeze, a Canadian corporation, whose parent company, Constellation Software Inc, is listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange.

Neil Harpham, Hewitsons' lead corporate partner, said: "The completion of any significant corporate transaction in the current economic climate is in itself an achievement, especially considering the technology sector has not been particularly active recently."

Auriga produces the Evocab range, a dispatch system which links drivers and office staff using a combination of text messages, the internet and interactive voice response.
