Overview:

Clare Colacicchi is head of the firm's Private Client Section and leads the Private Client Team in Northampton. She advises individuals and trustees on estate planning, in particular as to the use of trusts with a view to alleviating capital taxation. She advises a number of charities, in particular service providing charities and those in the education sector.

Experience:

Clare's experience covers advice to individuals on their Wills and Inheritance Tax position. She advises executors and trustees on their powers and duties, and in particular on the variation of family settlements.

Clare has particular experience of advising charities on constitutional issues, relating to the establishment and merger of charities.

Background:

Clare read Modern History at Somerville College, Oxford and qualified as a solicitor in 1983. She spent 8 years with Macfarlanes before joining Hewitsons in 1989, becoming a Partner the following year.
