Overview:

Kevin is a partner within the corporate and pensions team based at our Northampton office. He advises on a wide range of commercial, contractual and intellectual property/information technology issues and also on pensions law.

Experience:

Kevin has almost 30 years experience in the law. Prior to joining Hewitsons in 2001 he worked as a partner in other law firms and in the earlier part of his career as an in-house lawyer for a number of well-known multi-national companies.

Kevin advises on a wide range of non-contentious commercial and contractual issues including, for example, distribution, agency and supply arrangements, outsourcing agreements, partnership issues, media contracts and joint ventures. In the intellectual property/information technology area he covers intellectual property licensing agreements, contracts for IT and IT related services and website contracts.

As regards pensions law, Kevin advises on various pensions issues including, for example, the interpretation of provisions in trust deeds and rules, pension scheme administration and the practical impact of statutory provisions and case law. He is also experienced in drafting various types of pension scheme documentation.

Background:

Kevin graduated with an honours law degree from Nottingham Trent University and subsequently attended the College of Law in Guilford to complete the Law Society Examinations. He undertook his training in private practice but, following qualification in 1980, spent the next 8 years working as an in-house lawyer before returning to private practice. He joined Hewitsons in 2001.
