The Charity Commission have launched a series of visually engaging animated videos across their social media channels which promotes the 5-minute guides they launched in November 2020.

The guides were launched last year, as part of Trustees Week 2020 (2 November – 6 November). They covered the ‘core syllabus’ that trustees need to know, explaining the basics of:

  • Financial oversight
  • Achieving a charity’s purposes
  • Good decision making
  • Addressing conflicts of interest
  • What to file with the Commission and support that is available

Paul Latham, Director of Communications and Policy at the Charity Commission, said, this campaign “signals an important shift at the Commission, in line with our strategy – we are committed to ensuring our materials are user-friendly, and straightforward for busy trustees to access and engage with. I hope as many trustees as possible see our materials, and take the time to refresh their knowledge.”

All guides can be found on the Charity Commission website and have been designed to act as a ‘go to’ for simple and clear advice. For more information and to access the guidance, click here.
