At the recent international corruption summit held in London, David Cameron launched a new Charter covering key themes for sports governance in the UK.
The announcement supports the principles outlined in the Sport and Recreation Alliance’s Voluntary Code for Good Governance. The charter which includes 9 key themes, anticipates the publication of the new Governance Code for Sport expected this Autumn.
The Code which was announced as part of the Government’s Sporting Futures strategy published at the end of last year, will set out new and more demanding governance requirements for all sport and recreation organisations in receipt of public funds.
