A former geologist who has represented Great Britain in cycling has been promoted to legal director in the real estate team at Hewitsons. Bryan Guest began his career as a commercial geologist for a gold mine in western Australia. With a masters degree in mining geology, he moved to the UK where he worked in industrial mineral extraction, before switching to the legal profession as a solicitor in 2008.

At Hewitsons, Bryan’s work involves a full range of non-contentious real estate matters, including sales and acquisitions, development, overage, mineral leases, funding and leasehold work.

Commenting on his promotion, Bryan said: “Becoming a legal director here at Hewitsons is a privilege. With its enviable client base and talented people, the firm has consistently impressed me since I joined in 2016.

“I have been given the opportunity to pursue and develop new opportunities as well as continuing and growing my existing practice. Hewitsons is a great firm to be part of and I’m looking forward to building on the momentum into 2020 and beyond.”

Living in Ravensthorpe village, Northampton, Bryan enjoys cricket and cycling. A keen cyclist, Bryan represented Great Britain in the UCI world cycling tour in Denmark in 2015 and is a qualified British cycling coach.

Bryan joined Hewitsons as a solicitor in 2016, after working for a long-standing law firm in Northampton. He was promoted to legal director from the role of associate where he will continue to work alongside the real estate team.

Patricia Kempson, partner in the Northampton real estate team, said: “We are delighted that Bryan has been appointed as a legal director in the real estate team. He is highly-respected by clients and colleagues alike and we congratulate him on his well-earned promotion and wish him the very best in what we hope will be a long career at Hewitsons.“
