Hewitsons advises Hevey Building Supplies Ltd on acquisition

Hewitsons recently advised Hevey Building Supplies Ltd, part of Lords Group Trading Ltd, on its acquisition of MAP Building & Civil Engineering Supplies Ltd.

Established in 2003, MAP is based in Ilkeston, Derbyshire, under the ownership of Martin McCaul and Philip, both of whom will be staying on for the immediate future.

Mark Mulvey, managing director of Hevey Building Supplies, said: “We are delighted to have the opportunity to acquire this well-established business from its current owners. MAP has great staff and a strong customer base, a reputation for great service and a comprehensive stock holding. The addition adds to our delivery coverage in the Midlands area.”

Hevey Building Supplies is part of Lords Group Trading Ltd and this latest acquisition means that the group civils coverage now spreads from Derby down to the south-east of England.

Lords Group Trading Limited is a family business established over 25 years ago with its first retail unit in Gerrards Cross, Buckinghamshire.

Since then, the company has grown to a business operating from 218 units with a combined turnover in excess of £295m.

Lords Group Trading Limited encompasses builders’ merchants, civils merchants, retail,distribution and manufacturing companies. The predominant activity is within builders, plumbers and civil merchants through its Lords Builders Merchants, George Lines, and Hevey Building Supplies businesses, accounting for £90m of total sales through 12 branches, employing 257 individuals and deploying a fleet of 65 vehicles.
