Law firm Hewitsons is offering an opportunity for new members to join its popular and free HR Clubs run by each of its offices in Cambridge, London, Milton Keynes and Northampton.
Each club provides HR professionals with a chance to network and keep abreast of current developments in HR practice and employment law.
Members meet approximately once every two or three months to discuss a pre-arranged topic in an informal setting, over a light breakfast before the working day starts.
Sessions begin with a brief summary of the legal issues surrounding the chosen topic, given by an employment law solicitor from Hewitsons. The discussion then opens up to the group.
Topics are chosen by members and normally relate to a current issue. Recent examples have included the “Gig” economy, the right to work, grievance and disciplinary procedures and managing mental health issues in the workplace.

Hewitsons established its first HR Club in Milton Keynes some 6 years ago.
As a result of its popularity, the firm set up HR Clubs in Cambridge and Northampton soon afterwards, followed by its London office near Blackfriars station.
To ensure an informal, relaxed meeting, each club has around a dozen attending each session, ranging from HR professionals to in-house lawyers.
