Hewitsons meet with influential BOE agent
Growth in the region’s economy was the subject of a visit to Hewitsons by the Bank of England’s Agent for the East Midlands this week.
Alastair Cunningham’s role is to provide his analysis of the economic performance of the region to the Bank’s national Monetary Policy Committee to assist them in their decision making on the setting of the base interest rate. The firm’s senior management team were able to explain to Mr Cunningham something of the firm’s own recent growth story and their expectations for the coming year and the fascinating discussion also provided the Hewitsons team with an opportunity to quiz this influential and informed economist on his view of the condition of and prospects for the region in the coming months.
