Hewitsons is proud to support Cambridge Cleantech and Oxfordshire Greentech for the online Cleantech Venture Day on Thursday 25th March - a full day of pitches, talks and networking for innovators and investors looking for climate-positive solutions.
Cambridge Cleantech is a leading membership organisation that supports companies working to build products and services in response to global sustainability challenges. It unites the creators of innovative cleantech technologies with the financiers, partners and customers who can bring these products and services to fruition, and help create a smarter, more sustainable future.
Oxfordshire Greentech is a new business network for low-carbon businesses in Oxfordshire. It organises events for greentech businesses, offering them the chance to learn about the latest initiatives or technologies in the field and opportunity to meet, network and do business with likeminded individuals.
The event will provide the opportunity for companies to listen to inspiring keynote speakers and innovative pitches from 20 investment-ready cleantech start-ups. It will bring together innovative cleantech companies and experienced fund managers, business ‘angels’ and corporate investors.
The event will open with a welcome from Martin Garratt, chief executive of Cambridge Cleantech, with a presentation by Professor Aled Jones, director of the Global Sustainability Institute. Hewitsons Corporate Partner, David James, was a judge on the advisory panel, who reviewed and evaluated over 80 applications that were submitted this year.
Managing partner of Hewitsons Colin Jones said: “As a law firm deeply embedded in Cambridge, Hewitsons is committed to supporting innovation and development within the city’s thriving business community, as well as further afield and throughout the Oxford-Cambridge Arc, a globally significant area of development between Oxford, Milton Keynes and Cambridge.
"We are therefore delighted to be partners in the Cleantech Venture Day, as part of our commitment to enabling innovation to thrive in this area, which is renowned throughout the world for creative excellence.”
The firm recently also recently announced sponsorship of the Cambridgeshire Live Business Excellence Awards - an investor in the awards since their launch and sponsors of the Business Innovation category.
