Hewitsons to Host Free Breakfast Seminars in April, May and June

Law firm Hewitsons will be re - launching its free breakfast seminars club in Northampton and Cambridge this coming April May and June, sharing expert advice with local businesses and clients on important and topical legal issues.

The format for the seminars will include a complimentary light breakfast provided from 7.30am before the start of each seminar at 8am. The seminars will conclude with a Q & A session allowing attendees to leave for work at around 9.30am.

The first breakfast seminar in the series will be held in Cambridge on 29th April. The Construction team will be discussing the new Procurement Regulations, recent case law on payment notices, developments in adjudication and JCT 2016.

In total there are five seminars series taking place in Cambridge, the second will commence on 12th May and will be hosted by the Agriculture, Food & Rural Business team who will be discussing some of the latest developments affecting those involved in agriculture and associated businesses.

The third seminar in the breakfast seminar series will be held on 26th May. The Real Estate will join forces with the Construction team to present a seminar based on the latest commercial property and construction topics. Updates on break clauses, easements and managing liquidated damages and net contribution provisions in construction contracts will also be covered.

The Charities and Education team will be holding a breakfast seminar on 2nd June in which they will be highlighting recent legal and regulatory developments for charities and educational bodies which include new charity law, Charity Commission regulatory intervention and consultations. Other topics include legal and regulatory developments affecting schools, FE and HE institutions, and important matters relating to the operational activities of charities and educational bodies.

The Planning team will be hosting the fifth Cambridge breakfast seminar on 17th June in which they will be providing updates and commentary on recent cases, changes in legislation and guidance of topical interest in relation to planning law.

On Thursday 19th May the Northampton series will begin with the Agriculture, Food & Rural Business team. The presenters, all specialist solicitors will take a practical look at recent topics and cases of interest to the land and rural sector.

The Planning team will also be hosting a seminar on 30th June.
