We are delighted one of our charity clients has been recognised for its fantastic work by achieving a very strong listing in The Global Journal’s Top 100 NGOs list for 2013.
Northants based Riders for Health provides reliable transport solutions for health projects across sub-Saharan Africa by providing and maintaining a fleet of motorbikes and trucks which can handle the challenging terrain where transport infrastructure is lacking. Millions of people benefit from this simple yet critical link in providing healthcare in hard to reach places.
The Top 100 List placed Riders for Health as 5th most effective health NGO and at 7th for best innovation. Riders for Health’s co-founder, and CEO, Andrea Coleman said “I am very proud that Riders has been recognised in this list of incredible organisations. By naming Riders for Health among the top five in the health category, Global Journal has rightfully shown that transport is a vital part of health care.”
Co-founder and executive director, Barry Coleman, said “Managing vehicles so they don’t break down is systematic, it can be done anywhere in the world whatever the conditions. There should be no excuses for vehicles breaking down in Africa because when it isn’t done, the billions of dollars the world spends on health care do not reach the people who need it.”
Hewitsons is proud to advise and work with Riders for Health whose projects are making such a vital contribution to healthcare in so many communities.
