Charity Commission updates COVID-19 guidance in relation to charity meetings
The Charity Commission has this month updated its COVID-19 guidance in regard to “AGMs and other meetings: postponing or cancelling meetings”.
Recognising the “incredible work civil society groups” during the pandemic, over 350 funders have signed a pledge offering renewed assurance that they stand with the sector as it faces the Covid-19 outbreak.
Co-ordinated by London Funders (the membership body of funders of London’s civil society), organisations from across the funding spectrum have acknowledged that Covid-19 is an exceptional event affecting charities.
The funders commit to continue to listen to the needs of communities and civil society, to learn all the time about how they and civil society can strengthen their work together and to support charities in the long term. They also confirmed their commitment to the original pledges made in We Stand With The Sector statement made in March 2020 in response to the coronavirus. These included adapting activities where charities have difficulties achieving outcomes from funding, discussing deadlines for reporting, flexibility in the use of funding, and listening to charities about the situations they are facing.
