Strong showing for Hewitsons in latest edition of Legal 500 Hewitsons has once again been named as a regional heavyweight in the latest edition of the Legal 500, with a total of 15 top tier recommendations across its three offices further cementing its standing within the region.

In total, the leading law firm has notched up nine Tier 1 rankings for the Cambridge office, with the ‘first class’ Agriculture and Estates team retaining its top tier position. The experienced team is described by clients as ‘among the market leaders’, with Charles Hewitson and Denise Wilkinson noted as ‘efficient and straightforward’. Other teams to retain their Tier 1 positions in Cambridge include the Commercial Litigation team, which is described as having ‘a more balanced approach than many firms’, and the Employment team, where Clare Waller is said to be ‘head and shoulders’ above her competitors by satisfied clients. The Environment team retains its place in the top tier, with partner Deborah Sharples being described by one client as ‘knowledgeable, patient, detailed in her analysis, and a delight to have on one’s side’. The Charities, Education, Planning, Sport and Personal Tax, Trusts and Probate teams also remain in the top tier ranking this year. The Northampton office has received six Tier 1 rankings, with the Agriculture and Estates, Charities, Personal Tax, Trusts and Probate, Commercial Property, Pensions and Commercial Litigation teams all keeping their Tier 1 rankings. The Commercial Litigation team head, Dominic Hopkins, was described as ‘a solid litigator who works carefully through the details in a case’, whilst the Personal Tax, Trusts and Probate team was noted for its ‘excellent levels of service’. Meanwhile, the Employment team, led by Partner Nick Hall and described by clients as ‘excellent’, has kept its Tier 2 ranking position. The Milton Keynes office was once again recognised by the Legal 500 with the Commercial Property, Construction, Charities and Education teams all listed this year. This year saw nine Hewitsons lawyers named as leading individuals in the Legal 500 report, including managing partner John Dix and senior partner Charles Hewitson, who is described by clients as ‘eminently professional’. Joining them on the prestigious list for the Cambridge region is Deborah Sharples, about whom one client stated she ‘cannot be rated highly enough’, Denise Wilkinson and Jason Williams. Leading individuals in the Northampton office include Chris Knight, Clare Colacicchi, Dominic Hopkins and Richard Ingram.
