Christine Bowyer-Jones - Partner


Christine is a Partner and an accredited mediator. She is a member of the firm’s Sport, Charities and Education teams.


Mediating a wide range of civil and commercial claims of all sizes, Christine has particular experience of contract claims, real estate and construction, landlord and tenant, work place and employment disputes. She also mediates disputes within the sport sector.
Christine has a background in sports law and anti-doping issues in particular. She leads the firm’s Sports Group and is the client relationship partner for the Legal Panel Framework, an initiative established by Sport England, UK Sport, Sport Wales, Sport Northern Ireland and the Sport and Recreation Alliance, aimed at helping national governing bodies and wider sport and recreation organisations identify and gain access to high quality legal advice at preferential rates. Hewitsons is one of only 10 firms appointed to the framework. She has been a Judicial Officer for the RFU, sitting on anti-doping hearings and appeals, and a non-executive director of a sports governing body.

Christine also works alongside her colleagues in the Education team, advising schools and colleges on legal and governance issues.


Christine studied Modern History at Oxford and qualified as a solicitor in 1985. She was previously with Radcliffes & Co., Herbert Smith, and Joint Managing Partner and Co-Founder of Moorhead James LLP before becoming a Partner in Hewitson Moorhead, now known as Hewitsons LLP in July 2015. Christine is a Governor of Stonyhurst College.
