Elizabeth Swinburn

Overview
Elizabeth is Partner in the Cambridge Employment team. She specialises in contentious and non-contentious Employment law, assisting clients ranging from owner managed businesses to listed companies, charities, senior executives and other individuals.
Experience
Elizabeth advises on matters including contracts of employment/service agreements, policies, changing contractual terms, family friendly, sickness, performance, disciplinary and grievance issues and termination of employment, including settlement agreements. Her contentious work includes disputes and litigation involving unfair and wrongful dismissal, breach of contract, unlawful deduction from wages, discrimination and whistleblowing. Elizabeth also has extensive experience of advising on business reorganisation and restructuring, redundancy, business protection and TUPE.
Background
Elizabeth read Politics, Philosophy and Economics at the University of Oxford. She achieved distinctions in both her conversion course to law and the Legal Practice Course. Elizabeth qualified with Hewitsons in 2000 and became a partner in January 2007.
Additional information
Elizabeth is a regular presenter at employment law training sessions for HR professionals, clients and other businesses and regularly writes on employment issues. She co-hosts the Cambridge HR Club, a popular group for those with responsibility for HR to discuss topics of interest and share best practice.
