Katie is a Senior Solicitor in the Northampton Real Estate team.
Katie has experience of dealing with transfers of both freehold and leasehold land for individuals, businesses, charities, governmental bodies, educational establishments, developers and funders. In addition, Katie acts for clients on option agreements, conditional contracts, acquisition of rights and easements, release or variation of restrictive covenants and development agreements as well as property funding and corporate support work.
Katie also specialises in leasehold transactions, including negotiating commercial leases and lease renewals, along with preparing and negotiating ancillary lease documents and deeds such as deeds of variation, licences to occupy, tenancies at will, licences to alter, licences to underlet, licences to assign, deeds of assignment and deeds of surrender, acting for both landlords and tenants.
Katie assists in managing the legal aspects of substantial property portfolios. Furthermore, Katie advises clients on various Land Registry issues, including first registrations and upgrading the class of title to land.
Katie read law at Lancaster University and obtained a 2:1 degree before completing her legal practice course at the College of Law in Birmingham. She commenced her training contract with Hewitsons in 2006 and qualified into our Real Estate team in September 2008.
