About me

I have always enjoyed the wide variety of work that corporate law offers, which can be anything from managing complex multi-jurisdictional transactions to assisting clients with specific issues on corporate governance. No transaction, or day for that matter, is ever the same and one of the great things about my job is getting to deal with a wide range of interesting people, both from within and outside the firm.

My job is to make a transaction as smooth and painless as possible for our clients, so we offer a partner led service which means I am happy to be involved in every aspect of a transaction, and always available at the end of the phone. I work with all kinds of businesses from technology startups to large manufacturers, retailers, educational providers, property developers, construction businesses and non-departmental public bodies.

Over the years I have learnt to turn my hand to pretty much anything corporate-wise, so whatever the issue I am confident me or my team will be able to help. Above all I will provide you with commercial and cost-effective advice to help you meet your objectives. My legal specialisms include M&A, investment work, corporate governance, MBOs, restructuring, banking and LLPs and partnerships.

Outside work I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, cycling, sailing, and when time allows watching sport (I’ll follow pretty much anything competitive!).

Top Tips & FAQs

Discover my top tips

Get your professional advisers involved at an early stage as they can help you structure a deal in a co-ordinated and tax efficient way.

While we will assist you as much as possible, corporate transactions are notoriously time consuming, particularly where you still have to manage the day job. Being as prepared as possible for this always pays dividends.

Make sure you, or someone else in your business, is on top of your contract administration. Getting written and signed agreements in place at the start of any new contractual relationship can save a lot of stress and hassle further down the line.

Read questions I’m frequently asked

How much is this all going to cost?

Much will obviously depend on the complexities of the relevant transaction, but we can offer a range of options at the outset so you will have a clear idea of anticipated fees.

How long will it take?

A sale or acquisition from start to completion can take anywhere from 2 to 6 months. Getting lawyers and other professionals involved at the outset will help you meet your proposed timeframe.

Have you got a precedent I could borrow?

You would expect me to say it, but precedents can be dangerous things in the wrong hands, so I would always advise you to get a lawyer to draft your legal documentation. Working backwards from a badly drafted contract is usually much more costly.
