Rachel is a Solicitor based in our Northampton Agriculture and Rural Property Team.
Rachel deals with sales and purchases of agricultural land and farms (including farmhouses and cottages) including acting for banks on obtaining security over these types of properties. Rachel has experience of dealing with complex transactions including sales of parts of farms, overage or development clawback and partnership and trust terms. Rachel has also dealt with a number of voluntary first registration applications at the Land Registry including large estates and farms. In addition Rachel deals with other rural property related matters including licences, easements, utilities services, agricultural tenancies and leases of commercial premises.
Rachel joined Hewitsons in 2016 having qualified in 2014 with experience at a regional firm in a range of general commercial property matters. Rachel read Law at DeMontfort University in Leicester and completed the Legal Practice Course at the College of Law in Birmingham in 2009 before training at a local firm.
Rachel’s family have been farming in Northamptonshire for over 50 years and she is still closely involved with the family farm shop. Rachel is also a member of Northamptonshire County Golf Club and holds a handicap of 5.
